Off-Page Optimization Factors

In addition to on-page factors, search engines are increasingly using off-page factors to calculate relevance. This is because off-page factors are more difficult to manipulate artificially. The most important off-page factor is link popularity. Others include social media marketing, link text, link community and click popularity. Off-page optimization involves ensuring that these elements are in place to boost relevance for the targeted terms.
Off-page optimization factors include:
· Link Analysis
o Number of One-Way incoming Links pointing to your site
o Quality of web pages pointing to your site
o Link Context – anchor text and surrounding text of links.
· Click through (CTR) Measurement
· Social Book-marking
· Articles’ submission
· Back links from Online Directories
· Many more…
(Off-page Optimization factors are covered with details later in this e-book)
